Canvas

LensTrek Photography uses Breathing Color’s Chromata White™ Canvas for all photographic reproductions. Chromata White™ Canvas is a textured 19 mil Bright White, consistent Poly Cotton Blend Matte Canvas with an acid-free, neutral pH coating. "Chromata White" provides the most stable platform on which to print photographs without the metamerism issues or color shift issues inherent on other canvases.

Canvas designed for a photograph provides several advantages over paper.

An image on canvas does not require a matt; thus a photograph-on-canvas can be produced in large sizes.

Any image printed on paper requires a glass cover, and the result is glare and reflections that obstruct the image. A photograph printed on canvas is not behind glass and thus can be viewed from any angle without glare; just as a piece of fine art should be viewed.

Canvas will not deteriorate or turn yellow with time.

As the light in the room changes throughout the day, from natural light to artificial light, an image on canvas retains its true color.

Canvas has texture; thus a photograph printed on canvas has a subtle sense of depth and therefore has the appearance of a traditional work of art.
